18th District State Representative Brandon Vick takes the oath of office Dec. 7

State Rep. Brandon Vick, R-Felida, took the oath of office today to serve his first term as a state representative for the 18th District. The district includes Battle Ground, Camas, and much of Clark County. Accompanied by his wife and daughter, Vick was sworn-in by Justice James M. Johnson in the House of Representatives chamber.

“I am honored to be here, serving the people of the 18th District,” Vick said. “My fellow Republicans and I have a lot of work to do! As the manager of a family business that we've run for three generations, I am keenly aware of the issues impacting employers and job-seekers. If we are going to get Washington on track we need to find creative solutions to old problems. I hope to bring new ideas that help get Washington working again.”

Vick is a life-long resident of Clark County and has been involved in local politics for more than 10 years. He is a past chairman, treasurer, and board member of the Clark County Republican Party. He has also served as precinct committee officer and director for the 18th District.

Vick is taking office earlier than normal due to special circumstances in the 18th District. Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, was appointed to position one, the seat that Vick was elected to, she ran for position two and won. The election was certified December 6, at which time Pike had to step down until she resumes her new role in January.

Before the 2013 legislative session begins on Jan. 14, Vick will be selected to serve on House committees. The public will be notified of his committee assignments and where he can be reached. The information will be posted on his Web site at houserepublicans.wa.gov/brandon-vick. In the meantime, you can call Vick at (360) 786-7850 or email him at brandon.vick@leg.wa.gov.
