Town hall – Saturday

This Saturday, Rep. Paul Harris from the neighboring 17th District, and I will hold a town hall meeting at the Battle Ground City Hall at 11 a.m. The meeting will take place on the second floor in the city council chambers. I am looking forward to this very important opportunity to chat with you about the results of the 2013 legislative session. I hope that you will attend and share your particular concerns as we head into the 2014 session.

All constituents of the 17th and 18th Districts are invited to participate. Paul and I will highlight important parts of the legislative sessions, talk about what to expect from the Legislature in 2014, and what may be on the horizon for a transportation tax plan as well as the future of the Columbia River Crossing (CRC). I hope you can join us – Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Battle Ground City Hall.

Community Recognition

I want to wish the very best to all the teachers, administrators and students who are back in school. My utmost gratitude for all they do to help educate our children. And, best wishes to the high school seniors who will be graduating at the end of the year and moving on to the next exciting chapter in their lives.

My congratulations to local companies:

  • Altrusa International of Clark County, a community service club that promotes literacy who has just joined the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, and
  • Uncle D's Wood Fired Pizza for a successful startup in Battle Ground. They are quickly becoming a favorite stop for the Battle Ground community.

On a personal note, I want to wish Happy Birthday to my daughter Makena Vick who turned one year old this month! Being her dad is my favorite job.
