First, I want to thank you for placing your trust in me and allowing me to serve as your voice in the state Legislature for another term. I am honored and humbled by your support and I look forward to serving you in the upcoming legislative session. We face many challenges as a state but together, we can meet these pressing issues and create remarkable opportunities for our families and communities. The 2015 legislative session is fast approaching and will begin Jan. 12.

Second, I want to announce that election-year restrictions have ended. My colleagues and I in the Washington State House of Representatives were limited in the communications we could send out during an election year. With these restrictions removed, I look forward to continued communication with you to keep everyone informed of the events affecting our communities. I look forward to listening to your concerns and creative solutions.

During this interim, I've met with teachers, school administrators, employers, employees, community leaders, individual citizens and many others. Your feedback is essential to helping me understand the challenges and opportunities in our communities. I look forward to taking your ideas to Olympia to make this district and state better for our families, economy and the next generation.

I hope to see everyone at the town hall meeting with Sen. Ann Rivers, Rep. Liz Pike and myself on Dec. 6 at the Battle Ground City Hall. I anticipate a great discussion about the issues important to you.

We have a lot of tough decisions to make and it's important to me that your voice and values are heard. As always, my door is open and I look forward to meeting with you. From now until January, you can direct any questions to my Camas district office. Office hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. During the 2015 legislative session, you can contact or visit me at my Olympia legislative office (contact information below).
